Communion Statement of Christ Lutheran Church
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence of the saving faith which our Lord Jesus Christ gives. We believe…
- That we are sinful by nature and deserve God’s judgment.
- That God has called us to faith in Jesus Christ by his lavish grace.
- That the Lord’s Supper is God’s gift of Christ’s body and blood in, with and under the bread and the wine.
- That this meal is a communal meal and not an act of individual reception.
Because we eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood in this meal, this powerful gift can be received in a worthy or unworthy manner, and thus even to someone’s great harm. If you are planning on worshiping with us and desire to receive the Sacrament with this congregation, or if you are simply curious to learn more about what we believe regarding the Lord’s Supper, please feel free to speak to the Pastor or an Elder.
